Walking...how hard can it be?

So my dear friend, Allison, and I have decided we want to walk together a few times a week. For one, we want to lose this baby weight, and two, we want to get out of the house with the kids. Sometimes we just feel stir crazy and some fresh air really helps. Well, since we planned these walks, it's only happened twice and one of those times, it almost didn't. Seriously, I had no idea it would be so difficult to go for a little walk. Let me explain...last week when we went on our first walk, Allsion was up in the middle of the night with her oldest, Dominic and I was up with Holden and his tummy issues. She thought Dominic might sleep in and therefore said we might not be able to go until later than we had planned. I said no problem because Holden was up with his tummy ache and didn't go back to sleep until 7:00. Dominic didn't end up sleeping in and they were ready to go by 8:00, but Holden decided to sleep until 9:30! He only does that when I have something to do. I changed him and then fed him and then sure enough he had a blowout so I changed him again. We got over to Allison's around 10:15 and Dominic wasn't ready to go. He wanted to play and wouldn't let Allison change his diaper. Then he got hungry. Brayden had been asleep and then woke up and he was a little fussy. Allison fed him a little but he was still upset so she tried burping him a bit. We finally got all the kids loaded up in the strollers and out the door by 10:45 (we wanted to go at 7:30 or 8:00)! It was so hot and by this time Holden was now starting to fuss. I took him out of his stroller and put him in the front carrier and he was much happier. He even took a little cat nap in it. But it's not the easiest thing to carry him in that while pushing the stroller. Meanwhile, Dominic fell asleep in the stroller, and he didn't go back down when we got home, so no nice afternoon nap for him. And Brayden got upset right at the end of the walk, so Allison took him out and carried him the last little bit, which was not easy to do while pushing Dominic. By the time we made it home, we were laughing because it was just too funny. We weren't able to go the rest of the week because both Brayden and Holden had Dr.'s appointments and Adi had a weird schedule on Thursday. But we did go again yesterday. Even though Holden woke up super early from his tummy and went to back to bed at 7 only to sleep until 9 again, this time was still much better than the first. Dominic was excited to go this time and Brayden was a trooper. Holden got a little fussy and the wind didn't help, but he eventually fell asleep in the stroller and all was good. We even got to go a bit longer this time! Hopefully we will be able to go more next week.

Here's little Brayden before the walk.

Busy Weekend

Well, we had a fun and busy weekend. On Saturday morning I packed up the kids and we headed over to visit Allison and her boys. Adi had a nice time playing with Dominic and all of his toys. We got home in time to rest a little before Adi's t-ball game. Again, we packed up the kids and headed out to the game. When we got there we noticed that the other team was leaving. I guess there was a schedule change and the other team didn't get the memo. Instead of sending our team home, Mac and Lance decided to hold a practice and split our team up to play each other. It was really cute. After the game, I got Adi changed and quickly fed Holden and then we hopped in my mom's car and headed down to Roseville so that my mom and I could babysit while Erich and Meg went out for their anniversary. Adi and Evan had a great time...
Here they are having a blast in the hot tub. In bed watching a movie.

Having their "midnight" snack - they both decided they were still hungry at 9:45.

When we got home today I once again quickly got ready and fed Holden and packed up the kids to go to our neighbor, Jacob's, 3rd birthday party. It was at Athletic Horizons, the gymnastics studio. Again Adi had a great time.

After the birthday party, Adi went to her mom's and Holden and I went shopping. Once we got home Lance and I started making dinner. We decided to BBQ since it was such a nice night. I plopped Holden in his Bumbo seat while I was making the green beans and at one point I turned around and saw him grabbing his foot for the first time! He has slowly been noticing them this week, and he finally grabbed it. I thought it was so cute!

Holden went down to sleep around 6:45 (it's 10:00 and he has already woke up twice) and Lance and I had a nice dinner out back. Now we are watching the Celebrity Apprentice and will head to bed after. Phew! I'm tired! Good night. :)

4 Months

Holden is 4 months today! Can you believe it? I can't! He's definitely developing a little personality. If he doesn't like something he slams his arms down, which is actually pretty funny and cute. He loves it when mommy smells his stinky feet (I never realized that a baby could have such stinky feet) and gets his tummy and he loves to dance with daddy. Things got really good with his tummy issues and he was a dream baby for a couple of weeks, but things have regressed and I feel like we are almost back at square one. Not quite though, because he is still soooooo much better than the first few months. Over the past week and a half or more, his bowel movements have changed again. They slowed down to one a day and sometimes one every other day or so, which is normal. But now he is back up to 5 to 7 a day! With the exception of how many diapers we are going through, it really wouldn't bother me that he goes so much, it's just that it bothers him so much. He is still having a lot of trouble with it and he has bouts of crying and twisting in pain, and latching on and yanking off, etc. On Monday night I kept a log and I was up with him 7 times that night because of this issue! Needless to say, both he and I were exhausted on Tuesday and are still playing catch up. It is also making it that much harder to get him used to his crib because when he is in pain, he just wants to sleep next to me. So, I took him back to the Dr. and guess what? I have to cut out soy, chocolate and continue to stay off of dairy and caffeine. What can I eat? Hmmm...good question. I'll let you know when I figure it out! The Dr. says that it is not normal that Holden is back to having 5 to 7 movements a day, and the fact that it's greenish and slimy (too much info?) means it's moving through him really fast. So something is up. Therefore, we start with my diet and see if it improves. Oh, and he's back on Mylanta for every feeding because the Dr. thinks his little bottom is probably burning inside, which might be why he gets so upset when he goes. My poor baby. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, things will get better for him soon. Man, we were so close!

Here are some pictures from Tuesday night when we went to my parent's for dinner.

Ok, seriously, check out those thighs!!!!

Our little star - who taught her to pose like that? She's got it down pretty good!

Rice Cereal

My wonderful mother has been bugging me to try rice cereal to get Holden to sleep through the night. I have been trying to tell her that the Dr. didn't want me to give it to him because of his tummy issues. But I finally did try it a couple of weeks ago (dang, sometimes it takes me so long to get a post on the blog) when his tummy was doing better. It didn't go that great. He really wasn't that jazzed about it and most of it ended up on his bib. Oh, and he definitely did not sleep through the night! :)

He's looking at me like, what in the heck was that all about mommy?

The New Truck

We got rid of the jeep on Sunday and Lance finally got his truck! The jeep was on it's last leg (or wheel) and was seriously about to die. Lance decided he had enough when the seat broke and the air conditioner stopped working. Not to mention the heater wasn't working properly, there was a huge crack in the windshield, there was a leak in the coolant container and the stupid check gauge light was always on and constantly beeping. So, we spent a few hours on Sunday at Wittmeier and came home with his 2005 Ford F150. Plus it's Razorback Red! :)

Notice the Razorback on the tailgate!

Easter 2009

We had a beautful Easter this year. The weather was absolutely perfect! Lance and dad went golfing in the morning while Adi and I stayed home and did an egg hunt with the eggs she dyed the night before. Then we headed over to my mom and dad's for Easter dinner and another egg hunt with all of the kids.
Here are Holden and Adi's baskets. They did get some candy, but I tried not to go crazy with the candy and instead get some fun things. Such as the elephant that grows a headful of grass hair. And of course all of Holden's candy went straight to daddy! :) So, the Easter Bunny hid the eggs in the early morning before Adi woke up. But by the time we got out there to hunt, the dogs had devoured 5 of the eggs! One of them picked up an egg and dropped it and it rolled next to a lovely surprise! Adi was so disgusted she didn't want to hunt anymore. After a minute of complaining about it, she was back to hunting again.

Dog Hair!!!

Okay, so if you look really, really close at this picture, you will see a black dog hair on Holden's cheek. I am sooooo tired of the dog hair in the house. I seriously can't stand it anymore. It's taking over the house. I mop, vacuum, use the lint roller oh and this new dog hair roller that Pledge came out with, but it never, ever goes away. Poor Holden always has it on him and it annoys me to death! Well, that's it for this post, just had to vent.

A Busy Easter Eve

Adi had quite the busy day on Saturday, the day before Easter. First we went and picked up Lucca and went over to grandma and grandpa's house to play on the new play set. The girls had a great time despite some bickering over the most ridiculous things. For example, driving over from Lucca's house, they began to argue about whether or not the flowers they just saw were CA Poppy's! It was pretty funny actually. Enjoying a little tea party together.

Dyeing Easter eggs for grandma.
While the girls were out having fun, Holden was working on a poop. You see, his movements are changing a little and sometimes he will go a day or two without having one. So now it seems like whenever he goes, it's a huge blowout! Just had to share the picture.

Later in the afternoon our neighbors got together and held a little egg hunt for some of the kids that live in the neighborhood. Unfortunately two or three of the usuals are missing, but two extras that were visiting got to join in the fun. From L to R: Braden, Unknown, Jacob, Adi, Grayson, Unknown

And then to top off the day, grandma, grandpa, Uncle Brad, Aunt Jill and Gavin all came over for dinner and more egg dyeing!

Gavin was having so much fun dropping the eggs into the blue dye. He didn't care much about the other colors.

First T-Ball Game

Adi's first T-Ball game was on Saturday April 4th. I know, I'm so late in posting these pictures, but it's been busy and the computer hasn't been working great, and Lance is on the dang thing most of the night. But better late than never, right? Anyway, the team name is the Diamond Dolls and they are all the cutest things ever!

Here's Adi and Kendal. They were so excited and ended up having a lot of fun.

Here's our girl up to bat for the first time!

And she made it to first!
